Welcome to Develop Online Course with Canvas!

This hybrid training workshop is designed for you to attend part face-to-face training with the facilitator and part online work using the resources and step-by-step guides and videos. There are also synchronous and asynchronous tools and options for you to collaborate virtually with the facilitator and peers in developing your course in Canvas.

When you set up your own online course, think about what items you would put in this beginning area. Most likely, they will be things like a syllabus or course guide, a schedule of assignments (with grade and due date information), general information about important dates for the college, and so forth. You might also put your course policies here. Even though you may put your assignment schedule and policies into your syllabus, you may also want to create separate documents for the schedule each week (like the weekly summaries in this course). A separate policy document that restates what is in the syllabus, is also a good idea. Think of other items you would like to post in this general information area of your course and keep a list of those items for later use as you build your own courses.

Please take a minute to update your profile information including a picture or avatar of yourself. You will be participating in numerous discussion forums throughout the course and having a picture along with the post helps build community.

As you begin this course, keep in mind in order for the Canvas to run correctly, you should use (latest version preferably) Firefox, Google Chrome and/or Safari, (some feature options do not display properly in Internet Explorer).
